- Jim Furnell, former LFC keeper saved the penalty from Hunt. Hunt never took
another penalty for Liverpool.
- Joe Baker was late with a challenge on Ron Yeats and both players got sent off.
Yeats finished on the turf with a cut above his eye. Yeats wasn't too pleased about his
only sending-off in his Liverpool career after the game: "I have never struck a
player in eight years and I never will. If I hit anyone I would expect to be sent off. But
I swear I never hit him. I asked the referee if I had had hit myself to get my cut and
bleeding eye, but he would not listen." |
