UNDER-18S END SEASON WITH A
DRAW
Honours were even as Liverpool's FA Youth Cup winning team ended a very successful
campaign with a 0-0 draw at home to Bolton Wanderers.
Reds Under-18 manager John Owens gave a debut to goalkeeper Josh Mimms who had an
excellent game making several fine saves. Mimms is the son of Bobby who played in goal for
Everton against Liverpool in the 1986 FA Cup Final.
Liverpool also fielded a trialist in Joseph Mills from Southampton against Bolton.
Michael Nardiello and Robbie Threlfall went close on the day for the Reds but Owens
felt a draw was a fair result.
"I couldn't say we deserved to win the game but I was happy with the
performance and a draw was a fair result," Owens told Liverpoolfc.tv.
"Josh Mimms did very well on his debut so I was pleased with him and I gave a
chance to some of the younger players in the squad who did well.
"It has been a good season and winning the youth cup tops it."
