PROFILE
Daniel Ayala joined Derby County on loan on February 11, 2011.
He is a promising centre-back and he spent the first part of the 2010-11 season on
loan at Hull City.
Rafael Benitez once again raided his homeland to capture the defender at the start
of the 2007-08 campaign.
Ayala came from Seville, where he cut his teeth for seven years.
"I didn't hesitate when I found out Liverpool were interested," he said. "I
didn't know much about the city but I knew all about the club and its successes."
Ayala helped the reserves to league glory in 2007-08 and has since gone on to
represent the first team.
A competitive debut arrived as a substitute at White Hart Lane on August 16, 2009.
Three days later he made his first start alongside Jamie Carragher in a 4-0 victory over
Stoke City.
The youngster's talent hasn't gone unnoticed back home, where he's trained with
Spain U17s.
Ayala joined Championship side Hull City on a loan deal on September 11, 2010 and
returned to Melwood at the end of the year.
