  PROFILE

Merseyside-born inside-forward Alan made his debut for Liverpool a few days short of his 20th birthday against Brighton at Anfield in September 1958.

It was a dream debut too as he scored Liverpool's 3rd goal in a convincing 5-0 victory. But established players like Alan A'Court and Jimmy Harrower were the main reason why he made only another 2 appearances that season (scoring one more goal) and just 5 more towards the end of the 1960-61 season.

Despite scoring 4 times in those 5 matches, he never played first-team football for the club again and was eventually transferred to Exeter City.
