PROFILE
Derek came through the Junior ranks at Anfield before signing professional forms around
his 18th birthday. He only played once for the first-team, a League match away to
Birmingham City on September 15th 1973.
He was substituted by Brian Hall when Liverpool were losing 0-1 and Hall promptly
scored the equaliser with just 5 minutes left! After leaving Anfield in February 1975,
Derek went on to play many games in the lower divisions for Port Vale and Wigan Athletic.
