PROFILE
Glasgow-born centre-half Joe signed for Liverpool in June 1948 after impressing
Liverpool's management on their USA tour. He moved to the States after being discharged
from the Army at the end of World War II. He didn't make his debut until 23rd September
1950, by which time he had already passed his 30th birthday. Only 4 more first-team
appearances followed before he was transferred to Grimsby in June 1952.
