  PROFILE

Forward player James was introduced into the Liverpool side when he played consecutive games against West Ham United & Portsmouth early in February 1928. Those were his only appearances of the 1927-28 season but he played in 32 consecutive league matches the next season, scoring 9 goals which included a brace in the 8-0 thrashing of Burnley at Anfield on Boxing Day 1928.

Although he started the 1929-30 season in the first-team and played in the opening three league fixtures, he lost his place and was only called on once more his last season at the club, 1930-31, although he did sign off with a goal when Liverpool defeated Portsmouth 3-1 on 28th March 1931.
