STAFF PROFILE
Having spent four years as a player with Wrexham, Steve moved into coaching at The
Racecourse Ground where he worked his way up to being the club's Head of Youth.
He led Wrexham to victory in the Youth Alliance at U18 level before being offered a
job with Liverpool in October 2008. Initially working with the young players up to the age
of eleven, Steve is now responsible for the development of players from the age of 12
through to 16.
"This is an important stage in the careers of these boys because it's towards
the end of the age category when we need to start making big decisions," he says.
"Are they good enough to become full time employees of the football club? Do they
have the right character and personality and the ability we are looking for?
"It's a big challenge for me and one I am going to enjoy. To be given this
opportunity and the chance to work with such a great team of people is brilliant."
