  PROFILE

Bootle-born Adolf(Alf) was a winger who represented Liverpool for 6 seasons during the 1930's. He first appeared during the second half of the 1932-33 season and then missed only 13 league games out of a possible 84 over the next two years. Injury kept him out for most of the 1935-36 season but he returned the next year to be the club's only ever-present with 13 goals from those 42 games. Alfred made a further 42 league and FA cup appearances in his final year at Anfield and finished with the very respectable total of exactly 50 league goals from 166 matches.
