PROFILE
John made 14 First Division appearances for the club at the end of the 1920's. He
was selected on 10 occasions in the middle of the 1928-29 season and scored his first goal
in the last of those matches, against West Ham at Anfield on 13th March 1929. John's only
other league goal for the club was also against the same opposition when they played at
Anfield the following season. He also played twice in the FA cup and scored Liverpool's
opening goal at Burnden Park, Bolton in a 4th round replay in January 1929 but Liverpool
were eventually knocked out after extra-time by five goals to two. |
