PROFILE
Jim, a half-back, was a regular member of the team that won the Second Division
championship in the 1893-94 season. He only missed 4 of the 28 league matches and also
played in the Test Match at the end of the season, a 2-0 victory over Newton Heath, that
ensured the club would play in the top division the following season. But Jim only played
5 more times that year as Liverpool made an immediate return to Division Two, finishing
bottom of the table with 22 points and then losing the decisive Test Match to Bury. |
