PROFILE
 The
Dublin-born Brian figured in a Liverpool first-team match came when he substituted Jim
Beglin during the club's 3-2 League cup victory over Fulham at Craven Cottage on 7th
October 1986. Although registered as a Liverpool player since the 1983-84 season, it was
clear that his chances of breaking through at Anfield were extremely slight given the
club's continued run of success through the whole of the 1980's. Brian had a loan spell at
Wrexham before joining Preston before the start of the 1987-88 season and by the end of
his third season at Deepdale he had played in 119 league games for the Lancashire club,
scoring 18 goals.
