PROFILE
Recommended to Liverpool by former Anfield keeper Michael Stensgaard, who had to retire
through injury, Jorgen Nielsen was signed by Roy Evans from Danish side Hvidovre in March
1997.
Nielsen did not make a senior debut for Liverpool, but featured in a number of
pre-season games and was named as substitute 'keeper on 23 occasions during the 1999-2000
season.
He spent the final three months of season 1997-98 on loan to Danish side Ikast and
enjoyed a loan spell with Wolves during the following campaign.
Nielsen was released by Gerard Houllier in the summer of 2002. Total LFC club games/goals
