STAFF PROFILE
Ivan joined the medical team at Melwood as a sports therapist ahead of the 2009-10
season.
The Spaniard graduated in physiotherapy from Leon University back home. He also has
a post-graduate qualification in articular manipulative physiotherapy from the University
of Coruna and a Masters in sports physiotherapy from the Escuela Gimbernat School in
Barcelona.
After starting out in private healthcare in Spain following university, Ivan began
working for Celta de Vigo FC in 2006 as a youth team physio. He was quickly promoted to be
responsible for all the physiotherapy at Celta's youth academy, including the reserve
team, before again moving up to work with their first team in the 2006-07 season.
He remained in this position for two seasons before securing a dream move to work
with Liverpool ahead of the 2009-10 campaign.
Ivan said: "I am thrilled to have been offered the opportunity to work in such
