PROFILE
Ernest deputised for regular left-half James Bradley when Liverpool played away to
Woolwich Arsenal on the 20th of February 1909 but that was his only appearance of the
season. It wasn’t until the 1912-13 season that he enjoyed a regular run in the side,
figuring in 26 of the last 29 matches of that First Division season. Ernest made 51 league
appearances for Liverpool with a further 4 coming in the FA cup competition.
