PROFILE
Republic of Ireland Under-21 international Darren Potter was given his Liverpool debut by
Rafael Benitez in the Champions League qualifier with Graz in August 2004.
A creative central midfield player, Potter came on as a substitute in the first leg
in Austria then made his full debut in the second leg 1-0 defeat.
He saw regular action in the Carling Cup run in 2004 and made 10 appearances in the
2004/05 season.
Potter is a former Liverpool schoolboy's captain who was once with Everton but the
Blues didn't take the option to sign him. Liverpool's gain and Everton's loss.
Potter is a highly rated central midfield player who has a good eye for a pass.
He has progressed from the Academy and has been a regular member of the reserve
side, under the close influence of Hughie McAuley. Total LFC club games/goals for Under 18s,
