PROFILE
Mali international Momo Sissoko became Rafael Benitez's fifth summer signing ahead
of the 2005/06 season when he arrived from Valencia.
Sissoko is well known to Benitez as he played many games for Rafa when the pair
were at Valencia.
He will join fellow Mali international Djimi Traore at Anfield and the signing of
Sissoko is a real coup for Benitez as the player turned down moves to Chelsea and Everton
in favour of the European champions Liverpool.
Benitez rates him highly and believes potentially Sissoko could eventually become a
better player than Arsenal captain Patrick Vieira.
Sissoko is a tough competitor who is very quick and can also play wide. He is sure
to be a good addition to the Liverpool squad.
