PROFILE
The fiery Scotsman was a surprising purchase by Dalglish, which proved to be his
last for the club. Speedie started his LFC career in explosive fashion, scoring an
equalizer versus Manchester United on his debut and gaining immense popularity by netting
twice in 4 minutes in the Merseyside derby. His next set of goals came however two months
later. His career at Liverpool can hardly be called a failure. He scored in every other
league game, a combined total of 6 goals in 9 starts, 5 coming on as a sub.
