PROFILE
William was a defender who represented Liverpool in the early 1930's. He made his
debut at full-back 6 days before Christmas 1931, a 1-1 home draw with Derby County. He
only missed one league fixture for the rest of the season once he had been introduced into
the side, was the club's only 'ever-present' a year later and only missed two league games
in 1933-34.
Although he started the 1934-35 season firmly in possession of the No. 2 jersey, he
lost his place before the turn of the year - to Robert Done for one game and then
subsequently to Tom Cooper.
