PROFILE
Michael Scott is a talented right back who is into his third year at Academy level.
Under-18s manager Hughie McAuley said: "He started his life with us as a
striker but we felt halfway through last season it might be worth trying Michael out at
right back. Michael wasn't getting many games as a striker so we put him at right back.
"He is an excellent footballer who understands the game very well. He has good
technical ability and is very quick. Towards the end of last season he did very well at
right back and he continued that during pre-season.
"He played for the reserves at right back in pre-season and did very well. I
know he impressed Gary Ablett and his staff with his performance against Manchester
United. It's an opportunity to consolidate in the right back position this season and I
think he could be dark horse for us at right back."
