PROFILE
 Ryan Wilkie is a winger who
left Celtic to try and pursue a career with Liverpool. He is a Scotland youth
international. Under-18 Academy manager John Owens said: “Ryan is a third year right
winger.
He can dribble and wrong foot defences when he is on the top of his game. He is
quite a slight build and lacks a physical presence. He has had a few games for the
reserves and he needs to push on more and improve this season. This is a big season for
Ryan.”
Former Celtic schoolboy Ryan Wilkie is a natural winger and he made the move from
the Academy to train full-time at Melwood in the summer of 2005.
Wilkie left Celtic to pursue a career with Liverpool in 2002 and started at the
Academy. He has a slight build and his best position is right wing when he likes to attack
defenders and get crosses into the box. He was a regular member of Hughie McAuley's
