PROFILE
Signed from Preston in February 1967, for whom he had made 170 league appearances
and scored 31 goals. Dave's is one the shortest careers of any Liverpool player over the
years. He made his only appearance as a substitute for Gordon Milne in the very last match
of the 1966-67 season, away to Blackpool. David was transferred back to Preston at the end
of the 1967-68 season. Dave was a tremendous success at Preston, playing 111 more league
games, scoring 10 goals and winning the Championship and the FA cup in six years.
