WOODS
BLUNTS BLADES
A goal from Calum Woods was enough to give Liverpool Under-18s a
confidence-boosting 1-0 win at Sheffield United ahead of Thursday's FA Youth Cup final
first-leg.
The young Reds take on Manchester City in the first-leg at Anfield and will be full
of confidence after this good win. The match was played in far from easy conditions with a
swirling wind making good football practically impossible.
"It was very difficult to play good football but we battled well and it was a
good win," Liverpool Under-18 manager John Owens told Liverpoolfc.tv.
"Our goal came from a corner when Robbie Threlfall headed the ball down and
Calum Woods was on the spot to score. It is a confidence boost for the boys ahead of the
FA Youth Cup Final which we are all looking forward to."
