A Jonathan Pringle penalty rescued a
point for Liverpool Under-18s as their latest Academy match ended with a 1-1 draw at
Sunderland.
Seven players who featured in the FA Youth Cup win over Manchester City started the
game and the Reds played well as they fought back from 1-0 down.
Liverpool arrived in Sunderland late and it took the young Reds a while to find
their feet before they earned a deserved point.
"It was a very good performance and once we got going we dominated for much of
the match," commented Liverpool Under-18 manager John Owens.
"We arrived late, so it took some time for us to get into the game. We had
chances to win and obviously we would have liked to have won, but I was very pleased with
how we played."
