PROFILE
Liverpool physio Dave Galley has made steady progress up the footballing ladder and
now finds himself at the head of the physio department at one of the world's most famous
clubs.
After seeing his playing career cut cruelly short at the age of eighteen, when he
sustained a horrific knee injury with Port Vale, Dave turned his attentions towards
physiotherapy and is now regarded as one of the best in the game.
He started his physiotherapy career at Port Vale on a part time basis, having
earned the necessary qualifications in college. He spent eighteen months with the then
third division outfit before moving to Fulham where he took up his first full time post
under Ray Harford. The late eighties saw him occupy a similar role with Luton and in 1991
he joined Sheffield Wednesday.
It was in the summer of 1999 that Gйrard Houllier offered him his present position
and his work with Liverpool runs alongside his physio duties for the England under-21
team, for whom he has been working for the past six years.
Whenever a Liverpool player goes down injured during a match Dave Galley is the man
you will see coming onto the field to carry out repairs.
