PROFILE
At a mere 16 years and six days, Jerome Sinclair became the youngest player ever to
represent Liverpool in the club's 120-year history when he was introduced as a substitute
against West Bromwich Albion.
Brought on from the bench by Brendan Rodgers in the 81st minute of the Capital One
Cup tie at The Hawthorns, Sinclair replaced previous holder Jack Robinson in the record
books.
The moment was the latest landmark in a whirlwind career for Sinclair, who joined
the Reds from the Baggies and made his U18s debut last season.
Goals have been a regular feature of the striker's game since he arrived at the
Academy and the 16-year-old has been on target for England's youth sides too.
He struck eight times in pre-season and has hit two goals for the U18s in their
four fixtures to date during this campaign, both coming against Crystal Palace on August
25.
The day before Sinclair celebrated his 16th birthday, Rodolfo Borrell selected the
striker for the Reds' NextGen Series encounter with Inter Milan in Italy.
